Hope's Haven Animal Shelter just couldn't operate without the generous people who volunteer their time to work at the shelter. We hope that you will decide to join our dedicated group of volunteers.
A new volunteer opportunity has come up! We need some people to crush aluminum cans for us. You would need to donate about 6 hours per week. The Shelter receives a cost benefit of approximately $300 per month from the cans. Call the Shelter if you would be interested in helping out.
We also need help feeding, grooming, and exercising animals, routine cleaning or answering the telephone. Drivers are needed to transport animals in our portable kennels to and from Washington State University Vet School in Pullman, WA, for spay/neuter. Gas can be provided.
Extra help is needed during most mornings starting about 8 a.m. for 2-4 hours. Volunteers are also needed to put dogs to bed early evenings on Sunday, Monday, Friday, and Saturday. It takes about one hour to do this.
We like to have volunteers to take the Shelter dogs to our obedience classes. Experience has shown that dogs with manners are much more adoptable. Dogs are often adopted "out from under us" during the obedience training, which is a good thing!
